Upcoming Event

Postby LucyJH » Tue Nov 03, 2009 8:22 pm

Might be common knowledge for some people on this forum. But thought others might be interested in attending this talk hosted by the Young Greens.

Why is Public Transport in Auckland so Bad and What Could Fix It?
Where: Room 202, Arts Building, University of Auckland, 14A Symonds Street
When: 7.30 - 9 pm, Tues, the 10th of November

Julie-Anne Genter is a public transport planner who has worked for McCormick Rankin Cagney for many years. MRCagney are one of Australasia's leading consultancies, specializing in public transport and urban mobility projects. Julie-Ann will give a brief history of transport in Auckland focussin on the economic, regulatory, and land use patterns that have driven our car-dependent development. She will then outline what changes in regulation and development are needed to shift Auckland towards a more sustainable transport system. There will be time for discussion and questions afterward.

Goals for 2010:

1). Get rid of one of my girlfriends

3). Buy Steven Joyce a gift basket whenever he says the words, "positive, economic, rail and investment" in the same sentence

It will be good. Julie REALLY REALLY knows her stuff.

Must rearrange things next week so I can make it.
I should read Nick R's signature more often.

Yeah, theoretically this is for the public but mainly I'm just organizing it so I get to listen to her wisdom for an hour :)

Neither can I - with all the school kiddies on Exams, the number of available shifts at work has skyrocketed, and as always, I am keen to make an additional buck
Adopting the latest trend

"We should have listened to John Bradfield" - Sydneysider
"We should have listened to Dove Myer-Robinson" - Aucklander
"When is the Kippa-Ring Line going to get built?" - Brisbaneite

Well you've got my vote for President ;)

(although I assume you're a fan of the 'low change' model where we swap the GG for a President, in which case you'd probably still want to be Prime Minister)
I should still listen to Doloras.
