Perhaps a farer bit of logic to decide whether or not to play that message is not whether your balance is less than $12, but whether your balance is less than 3x the fare just paid when tagging off. It's more important to keep some credit on your card for a 3-stage traveller than a 1-stage or 0-stage (CBD) traveller.

I find it amusing when someone gets that message, and they then try to tag on again. And again, as if credit will magically appear. And again, until the bus driver stops them.

Ticket gates are going in at the eastern side mezzanine of Britomart this weekend. They units are waiting in the mezzanine level this morning.
Here is a Mr Blurry Cam photo for you all:

If you do some rough counting there are about 7-8 of them.

Hopefully, that train / platform information display board will be moved further into the mezzanine area. Where it is now, right up close to the escalators up to street level, is bloody silly as nothing on it can be seen once you've exited from the bottom of those escalators. The info board is meant to be seen by passengers going "to" trains, not "from" them!

I agree, it should be at the other end of the concourse so you face it while walking toward the platforms.
I should still listen to Doloras.

The display board at the western end is also poorly located - the annex walkway hides it while you're walking down the stairs or escalators  , so if you want to read it, you have to pause in front of the rushing masses. :o

There are also holes on the platform level, beyond platform 1, between the gates and the wall. More gates, or a fence to force the sprinters to shuffle along behind the txting hairdressing students  ?

Or have it at street level above the steps/escalators?
It would make the presence of an entrance to Britomart train station there even more obvious to the general public.

I think what they need to do is adopt what they do with the PIDs in Sylvia Park in the mall there and put Passenger information of departing trains in plain view outside of the station itself, eg outside Britomart Western End as people walk down Queen St or as others have said in the vicinity of the Westpac building where it is obvious. And obviously adhere to appropriate safety measures as by nature people often stop to read them, like they do in Britomart currently which is somewhat dangerous as pointed out above.

I see more ticket gates and possibly glass barriers are to go in on the main concourse at Britomart. More holes have been drilled on the outer edges of the station between the pillars and the vending machines. Will put up a pic when I can. I have also heard that there are to be permanent(?) ticket booths located on the outer walls (near the offices next to vending machines) for those passengers wishing to purchase tickets.

Pics of the holes that have been drilled (and covered) for more ticket barriers. This is the same for both sides of the station.

Just as long as they don't do what they've done at New Lynn which is to position the big LED PIDs at the station entrance level in a way that makes them totally unreadable from noon to sundown due to sunlight reflecting off the surface of the unit. Sort of like the glass roofed canopies which they're currently installing a further set. They're evidently impossible to clean; the old ones still have gravel on them thrown by school kids about a year or so ago and are rapidly discolouring so that they're no longer sufficiently transparent.

Some new images of the 'Auckland Transport Branded HOP', spotted at Greenlane Station this morning.

First to note is the blue HOP logo, separate from the purple we have been seeing. I feel this is mainly to keep with the HOP brand but differential it from the Snapper HOP offerings.

This image, if correct, shows an AT branded HOP card. Notice the smaller, cleaner HOP logo in white and blue. Again, I think AT are really pushing their brand as the integrated ticket for all of Auckland Transport modes, and probably parking, etc as well. Other machines display the older HOP card design with the hop, skip and jump theme.
So the visual distinction between the cards is there, and we will probably see Snapper HOP become the disowned bastard child of the integrated ticketing saga.

I'm hoping we don't have to pay custody payments to their nasty mother, even though she tried to get us drunk to get her in the sack.

That gets the gossip going could this be our unexplained and unknown delay might explain machines that were previously working like Ranui suddenly not working despite the fact you still hear noise coming from it.

For comparison, how it was :ugeek: . Hopefully the station name will be reinstated for Greenlane, rather than showing <Station 113>. :o

Exactly Nick! I do hope that big PID gets repositioned further into the mezzanine area.

As has already been suggested in this blog thread, adding PIDs up at street level would also be a good thing.
