I have actually been wondering if Kiwirails new Stanley St office is the best place for them, I have already seen a few times where workers stop to watch trains pass :D

Rumour has it, everytime something of interest arrives at Wellington Railway Station the Kiwi Rail office empties out.

Very interesting news about the Rail Grinder, it sounds like a very big project to get most of the Main Lines done

We work them on open running lines now after various trials, although they have a tendancy to light the nearest vegetation in a dry spell do Grinders. Hatfield (broken rail - could have been removed by grinding?) caused a nervous breakdown to the railway here...speed restrictions imposed everywhere...and then the heavens opened (and I mean opened) for 2 weeks following and Mr. Burkhardt's largest overseas adventure to date (EWS) came very close to running out of cash as everything shut....

What's your thoughts on the new look of the Newsletter?

I'm a little horrified, OK a lot! Graphic design is my profession and this Newsletter is lacking, any relation to the new KR branding, colours, typography…
