Christchurch station demolition new photos

Postby Kahukowhai » Sun Jul 29, 2012 12:52 am

Here's about 120 new photos showing progress on the demolition of the old railway station in Moorhouse Ave.

Work carried out recently or being carried out at present or in the near future is stripping out the interior of the building and removing asbestos.

There has been no actual demolition of the building structure itself but I feel it must be happening in the next few weeks.

This is the first photo in the set. The album also contains around 200 other photos of the building and site.

That's a lot of unnecessarily broken glass which doesn't look earthquake-like. Vandals? If so, how prolific around Chch is that sort of thing at the moment?

I don't know if it vandalism or the work they have been doing inside the building.

The windows look like things have hit them or flown through them - the hole is usually in the centre of the pane, with the edges still in place.
