CBT does not have a formal presence here, but they have offered to resource a branch starting up.

How do we go about setting that up?

I'm sure CanRail would be interested in being involved, plus they seem to be well connected and have their own swanky meeting location.

Talk to them. They offered some stuff to me at the time, but I wanted more people on the ground because they weren't offering to organise that.

From my understanding, the general rule is an organisation or branch needs to have 12 people involved for it to be sustainable in the long term. However if other organisations join as members, they should count as 3 "people".

So if CanRail and "GenZero" Chch were to participate then only 6 people would needed to be rounded up for the rest.

So is anyone else interested?

Due to there being a possibility it may be feasible to look at this again and for me to spend more time on it, I will be discussing this further with CBT again in the near future.

Of course we are also interested to hear if other people in Christchurch may be interested.
