The Overlander rail service between Auckland and Wellington is being cut back to three days a week during winter.

Sounds like the numbers held up pretty well. I wonder how close KiwiRail are to being able to run it 7 days a week?

Does anyone know what happened to those guys who wanted to bring out a train from China to run a luxury service?

They wanted an exclusive 50 year monopoly on NIMT passenger services.
