There a place where a member of the public can make enquiries on when freight trains are due past a given point such as Papakura Station WITHOUT pestering the Signaller (I corrected that mistake as well) to save waiting around for a while (freight trains hasnt gone by my house in the last hour but will have a few back to back soon)

It all depends on the purpose - the revelation of such information.

I suppose it depended on what freight the train was carrying - if you were needing to know what time your consignment of goods had arrived at Westfield yards, then you would need to know the times of freight trains.

Last I checked, you would contact Kiwirail directly about that. After all, you are their customer?

That much is true, but I was alluding to the case that if someone really wanted to know when their cargo was due to arrive, checking the NIMTP would not be first place to look, surely?
Rail-it wrote:I suppose it would be. But I was of the belief that the NIMTP is commercially sensitive information. And that customers are informed of train arrival/departure times by/via customer service representatives.
